Cebelle Wins 2 Silvers at the World Junior Wushu Championship

Sri KDU International School is pleased to announce that Mandy Cebelle Chen from Year 10 won 2 Silver medals in the highly competitive Taiji Bare Hand and Taiji Sword events for the Under-15 category in the sport of Wushu. She achieved this feat at the 7th World Junior Wushu Championship which was held in Nilson Nelson gymnasium, Brasilia, Brazil. She was selected to represent Malaysia for the second time although this was her first world junior championships experience. Malaysia junior wushu exponents returned with the best results ever with 7 Golds, 5 Silvers, 9 Bronzes and were ranked 3rd in the world in this championship.

The World Junior Wushu Championships (WJWC) is the official world championship event which is hosted by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF). The WJWC takes place biennially and is the official pinnacle junior championships of the IWUF and features its highest competitive level amongst its top junior athletes worldwide. Cebelle will also represent Malaysia along with six senior national wushu athletes at the World Taiji Championships which will be held at Burgas, Bulgaria at the end of September.
