Mandarin Week in SKIS
Children throughout the school were involved in a variety of activities, including: making Chinese lanterns from recycled materials, singing competitions, creating Chinese couplets and learning Chinese calligraphy. The week was topped off with a whole school assembly on Thursday bringing children from both SKIPS and SKISS together to perform and entertain students, teachers and parents. The assembly was conducted in both Mandarin and English and included; a lion dance, songs and poems performed using KungFu and sign language, Chinese yo-yo performances, solo singing and instrumental acts, Tai Chi, WuShu and the Chinese Drums. It was a magical event and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Gong Xi Fa Cai!
