Sri KDU International School Under 9's Play HELP School
On Wednesday the 8th of November the U9 football team from SKIPS played in a friendly fixture against HELP International School (HIS). This was the first time a football team from SKIPS had competed in a friendly fixture and it was a fantastic success.
There were 14 players from each side so it was decided that each school would have an A and a B team consisting of 5 players and 2 substitutes. A round-robin style competition was then played with matches lasting 7 minutes each. There was an incredible atmosphere around the Futsal court as the matches were played. Huge thanks must go to all the parents who turned up to cheer on the teams and for bringing delicious snacks and drinks for the players.
There were some close results but HIS were slightly stronger over all. However, the potential amongst the SKIPS players was clear and we hope that with more training and increased fixtures the players will continue to develop. Thanks must also go to Mr Foster and Mr Grant who have been training with players every Wednesday since September. The improvement in the quality of play in the last few months has been amazing and much of this is down to the hard work and support given by these dedicated members of staff.
